Hydration is the key to a healthy body, inside and out! No amount of diet coke and coffee will hydrate you the way good ol' water does and give you a whole heap of benefits to go with it. In fact, more than half of us are walking around dehydrated and don't even know it. So I’m thinking maybe we should start to take our drinking habits a bit more seriously, and below are my top ten reasons to do just that. 

1.Fight Fatigue

Falling asleep at your desk? Have you ever considered you could be dehydrated? Water is one of the main sources our body relies on for energy. We simply cannot function without it. Good sleep, and every other bodily function you can think of including producing energy to get us through our day, all need water to happen and happen correctly. Get sipping!

2. Weight-loss

 A lot of the time we confuse thirst with hunger, and if we aren't drinking enough our bodies will send our brain the signal to consume more fuel for energy, meaning we eat more and most likely put on unwanted weight. Staying on top of your water intake throughout the day can actually reduce your appetite. As you are consistently hydrated, you will have more energy and your body wont need to ask you to eat. Furthermore replacing calorific drinks with water will naturally help weight-loss.

 3. Reduce Skin Problems

A clear complexion starts from within. If you are not feeling your body with what it needs no amount of wonder creams and lotions will cure your problems. Not drinking enough water means our skin cannot clean itself of toxins and in turn becomes inflamed and irritated, causing a host of nasty symptoms such as acne, blotchiness, itching, redness and blocked pours. Those who have skin conditions such as psoriasis and eczema should also see an improvement with proper hydration.

4. Stop High Cholesterol 

Too much Cholesterol is produced by the body when it is dehydrated so that our cells can still function properly. Drinking enough water will prevent this and keep your cholesterol at optimum level.
